Therapeutic horticulture delivers many benefits, including sensory stimulation, increased self-esteem and cognitive development, to name a few.  The overall aim is to use gardening and plants to improve wellbeing, creating benefits that reach beyond the garden.  We build programs for individuals, small groups or specified cohorts, tailoring activities to support personal goals or learning outcomes. Key themes include working safely, life skills, teamwork, sustainability, recycling, gardening practices, healthy eating, and ‘growing your own food’.

Setting can include:
• Schools
• Aged care facilities
• Residential homes
• Assisted living accommodation
• Community gardens
• Hospitals

Kath is currently a lecturer for NM TAFE and has been teaching horticulture at Belridge Secondary Education Support Centre for the past 10 years.

NewShoots is fully insured with an ABN.
Kath has a working with children check, police clearance and a first aid certificate.
